Purpose in action

Little by little.
Together, a lot.

Service starts with paying attention. Listening to our communities, connecting with partners and showing up where we can make a meaningful contribution.

When we come together,
good goes further.

Explore Rotary's areas of focus

From intention to useful action

Good service starts
with good questions.

Rotary's project resources emphasise community assessment, collaboration, sustainability and learning. These principles offer a useful starting point when proposing a project.

Explore service planning resources
01

Listen before you plan.

Start with the people affected. Learn what they consider a priority, what already works and who is already contributing.

02

Build the right partnership.

Bring community knowledge, relevant expertise and volunteer energy together. Agree a realistic scope and responsibilities.

03

Make the work achievable.

Set a clear goal, plan the resources and think about access, continuity and how progress will be measured.

04

Learn what changed.

Review the outcome with the community. Record what helped, what needs improving and who will carry the work forward.

Care for the place we call home

A shared environment.
A shared responsibility.

Protecting the environment is one of Rotary's areas of focus. It invites us to look at how the health of our surroundings connects to the well-being of our communities.

Have a local environmental need or a potential partner in mind? Bring it to the conversation. The scene here is an illustration of what caring together can look like, rather than a record of a Bahari project.
